Mondlicht Studios is proud to present "Elevation" – a two-minute video and a series of posters created by our team for Motion Design Awards. Our team is thrilled to get a chance to contribute to the development of MDA and the motion design community. We strongly believe that creative ideas and commitment to the work do influence the world, making it a better place. In our uncertain times, we are happy to share our skills and hope that our work will inspire people to create extraordinary artworks.
From the start of the project, we decided to develop a story, which will help us emphasize Motion Design Awards' spirit.

The events of 2020 locked us in our homes and relocate our lives much more into the digital space. That inevitably accelerated the changes we see today – creativity influences our world through the screens. Motion Design Awards' global mission is to help designers and studios worldwide to get their work noticed. So, we came up with the idea to combine two worlds – the real one and the digital one. Nowadays, they influence each other more than one could ever imagine.
Working on the style of the video, we decided to step back into the 1990-2000s, when personal computers finally found their way into our every day lives. Each person got the possibility to become a designer and contribute ideas to the CG industry development. Inspired by the amazing atmosphere of David Fincher's movies, we developed a visual solution that communicates the idea.
The project involved a lot of modeling. However, the most interesting objects are the stick inspired by the logo of Motion Design Awards and the stele. Both were created by Nikolay Okolita and Arthur Nalobin. For the objects, the team created a series of unique symbols and design elements.
While Arthur was working on character animation, our good friend and colleague Rafael Coppola Defelippe was creating the design and simulation for the cloth.
Our CEO and art-director Dmitriy Glazyrin developed a series of posters based on the video's visual style.
